This mix was created in January of 2021 through a veil of deep reflection, mourning, and the desire to attain catharsis. All of these songs, many by absolute masters in their respective genres, feature a form of ecstatic vocal centered around the voice as a direct connection to the collective human soul and beyond. Gratitude has become a centering space for me to dwell in the midst of these troubling times.
There are moments in this mix that bring me to tears of gratitude for the divine beauty and sheer power of human breath to give life to everything it touches, even within a cataclysmal storm.
